Pricing

One quote. Fixed before we start.

We price per project, because a booking app and an exam app are not the same amount of work. What never changes is that you see the number before you commit anything.

We do not publish a price list because we have seen what happens when studios do — the number on the website turns out to be for a version of the app nobody wants, and the real quote arrives after you are emotionally committed. You will get your number in writing within five days of the first call, before you have paid anything.

How you pay

Split across milestones, with a gate at each one

You release the next payment when you have seen the work. Not before.

On signing

25%

Gate: you have the written scope and the launch date.

Design approved

25%

Gate: you have tapped through the whole app on your own phone.

Build complete

25%

Gate: the finished app is on your phone and works.

Live on both stores

25%

Gate: anyone can download it. Not "submitted" — live.

What the monthly fee actually buys

  • Servers, database and hosting
  • Uptime monitoring and crash alerts
  • Bug fixes, without an argument about whose fault it is
  • The annual iOS and Android compatibility work
  • Payment provider and store policy changes
  • Your users' support inbox, answered by us
  • Small content and copy changes on request

New features are quoted separately. If we folded them into the monthly fee we would either have to price it high enough to cover the worst case, or start saying no.

What is not in any quote

  • Apple's yearly developer fee, paid by you, in your name
  • Google's one-time registration fee, same
  • Advertising or influencer spend
  • Filming, editing or writing your content
  • Third-party services you choose to add later

These are in your name deliberately. It is what makes the accounts yours rather than ours, and it is the reason you can walk away with everything.

The store cut, said out loud

When someone subscribes inside the app, Apple and Google take a share before you see anything — currently up to 30%, less for smaller developers on some programmes. When they pay through a web checkout instead, processing fees are nearer 2.5%, but you are not allowed to push people there from inside the app on iOS, and the rules keep moving.

We will show you both routes with your own numbers before you decide, and we will tell you what the current rules actually permit rather than what would be convenient for us.

Getting out

Thirty days' notice. That is the whole exit clause.

Tell us in writing and we hand over credentials, source code, database exports and a written handover document inside 30 days. There is no exit fee, no "transition retainer", and no clause that makes us a silent shareholder in your app. The store accounts were always yours, so there is nothing for us to release.

Plenty of creators should eventually take this in-house. We would rather be the studio that got you there than the one holding your login hostage.

Pricing questions

Before you ask

Because the honest number depends on what the app does, and a headline price would be for a version that would not serve your audience. You get your number in writing within five days of the first call, before any money moves. If it is out of your range you will have lost 45 minutes.

That is what the milestone split is. Four payments across the project, each released after you have seen and approved the work at that stage. If you need a different structure, ask on the call — we would rather adjust it than lose a good project over cash flow.

We will quote it separately and you decide. What we will not do is absorb it silently and then be three weeks late without having told you why.

For as long as you want us running it. Thirty days' notice ends it. Some creators move in-house after a year or two, and that is a perfectly good outcome.

No. We quote a fixed build price and a monthly fee. Revenue shares sound friendly and then quietly become the most expensive thing you ever agreed to.

Quotes are exclusive of GST, which is added on the invoice at the applicable rate. You get a proper tax invoice for every payment.
